Cutting Vinyl Die-Cut Stickers on Cameo Silhouette
When creating custom vinyl stickers or signage, I like to use quality vinyl like Oracal 651.
Getting the right cut can be tricky though using default vinyl settings on my Cameo Silhouette.
I may be old school at this point as I still am using my original Cameo Silhouette, but hey it gets the job done, and I'm not a daily or even a weekly user.
That said, I wanted to share the settings I use to cut Oracal 651 on a Cameo Silhouette since they vary slightly from other recommendations I have seen, and don't show the legacy units.
Material: Oracal 651 Glossy Vinyl
Silhouette Cameo Settings:
- Blade Depth: 3
- Force: 11
- Speed: 7
- Passes: 1
I've also found it helpful to cut the vinyl by putting it on a cutting mat first. I prefer the lightgrip ones that don't try to steal the backing from you each time you pull it up.
Hope this helps someone avoid a frustrating weeding session on their next vinyl adventure.
